Somali senior tournament in Finlad
Somali Senior teams have gathered in Helisinki the capital city of Finland. This tournament was organised by Somali Cutural and Sport Organsation which is led by Mr Imad and Mr Qoje.
This tournament has been happening for the last five years and many Somali senior teams and spectators from European countries went there to either participate or watch the beatiful matches. Six teams took part in the tournament and those include: Southall, Wembley, Sweden, Denmark and two tems from Finland.
Southall senior team played against Sweden which they held 3 – 3 and second game they palyed against the strongest and best team in the tournament which is called Finland First Team. This game was very hard for the Southall seniors but finally beat the firt team of Finland 5 – 4.
The second team of Finland also played against the Southall Seniors in the semi final and Southallers beat this team 5 – 4 thanks to the all members of the team particularly Mr Sulman and Tigana which but the Southallers to the final.
Mr Mustafa Sulman who managed and played for the team had shown the guts and the courage of leading the team with a few players available for him. Regardless to his knee injury he pluckily confronted with young taled players like Mr Nuno and made for them impossble to score many scores.
Likewise through the whole games Mohamed Ahmed Abdalla (Tigana) made tremdous saves which led Southaller to be in the final and he was nominated and given a trophy for the best goal keeping of the tournament which he later gave it generously to one of our previous best national strikers Mr Nur Gab who is now his late sixtiest.
Southall Seniors finally lost with the best team that was predicted to win the tournament 3 goals against 5. And they promised that they will be back next year and bring the trophy back to Southall if ALLAH wills.
